TOGETHER WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THIS CORNER OF KENYA !

Tirimas School children celebrate the arrival of school supplies, educational toys and materials. They were full of laughter taking turns in the play school bus.

Kelly, Jackie and Bronwyn. spent time visiting the children at Tirimas to sing ,play and read new books. They were presented with a chicken in thanks by the staff and children. The girls named her Poulette and carried her about like a pet which made everyone laugh.

The children were delighted with new soccer shirts donated by Hudson/ St. Lazare Soccer club and The West Island Soccer School.

Greetings to Canada from the orphans and vulnerable children and their grandmothers and caregivers in Kakamega. They are gathered for the monthly food distribution we sponsor with the help of St Edmund of Canterbury Church.

Sr. Agnes helps distribute new clothes, shoes ,blankets ,school supplies and a stuffed animal for each child from the shipment Many of these children are the head of their families.

Sr. Agnes unpacking the Physician Travel Pack containing $5,000.00 worth of medicine included in which are anti malarial drugs.  Sponsored by Lower Canada College.

Sr. Agnes ,was happy to receive medical supplies and equipment for her clinics.

The nursing students received text books donated by Dawson College and local physicians.

Itegero Library, set up in 2006 received more new books in the shipment. Kelly, Jackie and Bronwyn were delighted to see the book cards showed the children were taking them out and reading them!

The students at Ebi's former school in Itegero send their well wishes to Canada They enjoyed singing "If You're happy and You know it " again with the visitors!! They sang a song for the girls which said " The time to be happy is now" .

St Ursula School for disabled children celebrate the arrival of the shipment. The new wheelchairs will help with mobility for those unable to walk. The banners and flags from Canadian children were shared by the schools

Jackie making friends with a child at Chekombero School for Hearing Impaired children. She used sign language to tell them they were beautiful. We are sponsoring the care and education of 10 children  here this year .

Kelly and a little boy who stole her heart. All three of the "junior Kenya Girls " returned enriched and energized by their experience in this community. Like those of us who went before they are forever changed for the better by the time they spent sharing with them in their hope for the future.There is still much work to be done but the gains are tangible already and the celebration was truly joyful.
