The 2009 shipment of 28 suitcases
& 4 Medipacks were distributed by our Canadian
volunteers who traveled to Kenya in July 2009 (Darlene, Wendy, Paige,
Dawn and Crissy). This shipment contained donated school
supplies, library books, medical & nursing books, children's
& women's clothes,
blankets, stuffed animals & “tragedy teddies”, soccer uniforms &
balls, basket balls, skipping ropes, a wheelchair, medical equipment, hospital
sheets, gowns & dressings, and 4 Physicians Travel Packs (each with $5000 of
essential medicines and medical supplies) from
Health Partners International!
Funds donated by generous Canadians were used to purchase 2,700 mosquito nets
which will protect many children and their families from Malaria, which kills
and disables millions each year. On the following pages see photos
of the work and our projects that we visited as well as photos of the many
children whose lives are being changed by your generosity !

We spent a joyful day at the Emalindi Feeding Program in
Kakamega, distributing monthly food supplements of beans, flour and rice.
Mosquito nets were distributed to all families and the children received new
clothes and teddies. After all had shared juice and bread we celebrated
with the community, listening to their songs and poems . It was a very moving
experience. |
