Itegero Primary School Latrines Project 2011

The photo shows two of the six latrines installed for the girls of the school. Six latrines were previously installed for the boys in 2010.

Shanyinya Community Poultry Project 2011

A community poultry project to help with food security in the poor community of Shanyinya. The project was funded by an anonymous individual donor.

Isabella's Well 2011

Funded by Air Canada Vacations Company this well was installed in memory of Isabella Shisiliboti who sadly died of AIDS and waterbourne illness at the age of 10. It is located in Shanyinya Community.

Mwirembe Well 2011

This well has been installed on the grounds of St Paul School. Funding from an anonymous donor company made this well possible. Five hundred students and local community members now have access to clean water.

Emalindi Poultry Project 2010

 

 

John Abbott College Honours Science students funded a community poultry project through their "Pennies for Poultry campaign".

Likhule Well Project 2010

A new well in this poor community will serve the Likhule Community and Mukumu Children’s Home.  The new well was completed and opened the week before Christmas 2010. It will bring clean water to over 500 people.

Maisha Mapya Maize Farming Project 2010

This project for food self sufficency was funded for an HIV AIDS group called Maisha Mapya which means "New Life".

Sacred Shrine Community Well 2010

"Rosario's Well of Love" was Installed in Feb 2010 funded in memory of Rosario Castrogiovanni by his family.
Three New Community Poultry Projects 2010

Poultry Projects were installed in 2010 for improved food security at Lion Hill, Upendo & Sacred Shrine Communities.

Itegero Primary School Library 2010

This year SFA was  able to fund the upgrading of the library we installed in 2006. It is named the Ebi Kimanani Memorial Library. It has received hundreds of books over the last 4 years. New desks, shelves ceiling, lighting and windows have been added to make it very comfortable now. It is a big change from the empty, leaking room containing only old papers and chickens   when we first visited in 2006. It was a joy to behold !

Itegero Primary School Water Harvesting Tank 2009
Rooftop water collection system  channels rain water into the newly installed storage tank at Itegero Primary School. This saves the girls from daily trips to the river for water.

                                                         St. Ursula School for Disabled Children

BEFORE

2008: Brightening the Lives of Disabled Children by purchasing desperately needed beds, mattresses and paint.   AFTER

2007: Building a well to supply the 84 student residents of St. Ursula School for Disabled Children in Kenya with clean drinking and washing water.

 

Our goal was $4,600.

VIDEO OF ST URSULA SCHOOL FOR DISABLED CHILDREN This is a video tour of the dormitory living conditions of the children. Despite heroic and loving caregivers these children live in extreme poverty lacking clean water and basics. Our first priority is a new well now fully funded by your donations.
