Thanks to Beaurepaire United Church for giving us space to sort and pack and store the suitcases this past winter.

Taking a break from the final weighing and labeling.

SO MANY SUITCASES!

SO MUCH LOVE FROM THE COMMUNITY!

THE BIG DAY ARRIVES !

On April 20th 2007, 300 children from Christmas Park School paraded through the streets with flags and banners to celebrate the send-off of the container!

WELL DONE BOYS AND GIRLS !

The children helped to load the last of the 178 suitcases and boxes   Among the donations are 5 wheelchairs, 4computers 6,000 pencils and  hundreds of school supplies. New blankets and sheets and teddy bears  were collected for handicapped, hearing- impaired  and orphaned children living in the dormitories.  Each child will also receive a colourful bag filled with personal hygiene items, a bowl, spoon and cap. The children also raised $2,000.00 for new text books

The children gathered around the container to sing and read the letters they wrote to the Kenyan students. This was a very emotional moment for all of us.

Letters and art work for each school were placed in the container.

HANDS

Hands have become a symbol of this project for us. Friendship hands, helping hands, loving hands, waiting out-stretched hands . Hands that reach around the world. Thank you for lending your hands too!

West Island Soccer School coaches, Danny and Joe help to load 250 new complete soccer team uniforms donated by The Hudson/St Lazare Soccer Club. Hundreds more second hand soccer shirts were  also donated so the boys and girls will all receive them. We know how excited they will be about that!

Three young women from Montreal, Kelly, Jackie and Bronwynn, will be traveling  to the village in July on our behalf to help distribute and assist in the schools and community. Thank you for stepping forward and volunteering  your time and positive  energy to help this project !

Our container heads across the ocean towards the port of Mombasa on the Zim Pusan container ship.

THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS DONOR WHO IS FUNDING THIS SHIPMENT ! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THESE CHILDREN!
